Apex Legends reconnect feature not on the cards, says Respawn

An Apex Legends reconnect feature is not being worked upon by developer Respawn, it has recently confirmed.

“We’ve heard the suggestions from you folks asking for a reconnect to match feature,” the developer said on Reddit. “We are currently not pursuing this for a couple reasons.”

The first reason is that Respawn believes that a reconnect system that would leave a player’s character in-game so they could then reconnect and re-control it “opens a lot of risk for players to abuse it.”

The second reason? “We believe the resources needed to build, test, and release it are better spent focused on fixing stability issues so that the feature isn’t necessary.”

Respawn believes that fixing stability issues — especially on PC — will better address those currently needing a reconnect feature; if players aren’t disconnected in the first place, they won’t need to join up again.

Are you having issues with connection stability on Apex Legends? Is it game related or perhaps you’re unable to connect to modern broadband? Sound off in the comments area, below.

Apex Legends is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
