Apex Legends’ next hero is a transgender woman named Catalyst

Represent.

Apex Legends will soon introduce a transgender woman named Catalyst as its next hero.

According to GamesRadar, EA and Respawn have worked closely with GLAAD to ensure that Catalyst is a positive and representative character.

Catalyst goes as far as to speak about her transition in Apex Legends‘ newest short, seen below.

“I feel like the whole world has opened up, now that I’m myself,” Catalyst, real name Tressa Smith, says.

We’ll have more on Catalyst and Apex Legends‘ newest update in the days to come.

Apex Legends is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 and Switch.
