Apex Legends gets PS5, Xbox Series upgrade

The power of current-gen compels you!

Apex Legends has received a current-gen PS5 and Xbox Series S & X upgrade, avaliable now.

All three current-gen consoles will now support 4K output alongside 60 frames-per-second (FPS) gameplay; HDR support is also enabled. Future patches will include additional options like 120FPS support, enhanced audio and visual improvements, and DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support on PS5.

On Xbox Series S & X, Smart Delivery will take care of the heavy lifting; all you need to do is update and play. Over on PS5, players will have to hover over their Apex Legends game tile, then hit Options, then Select Version and choose to download the full PS5 version of the game before they play.

The update also brings with it a limited time 9v9 Control event, a new arena map called Drop-off and the Warriors Collection event. For more, head here.

Apex Legends is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 and Switch.
