Apex Legends had a crazy progression bug this morning

Apex Legends fell victim to a crazy progression bug overnight that saw some players lose their XP, levelling and customisation items. Thankfully, the bug’s already been fixed and that progression restored.

Taking to Reddit, developer Respawn detailed the situation.

“When the 1.1 update went live, players were unintentionally moved to the wrong servers that didn’t have their persistence and this caused players accounts to appear reset with all progression lost,” Respawn said.

The developer shut down all live servers to remove players from those “wrong servers” and rolled back to previous states. Once the error was rectified, servers were turned back on and were upgraded to a correct 1.1 update in waves.

“Everything you’ve accomplished and bought in Apex up until the 1.1 Patch that went live at 10:00 PST today should be restored,” Respawn said. “Any in-game purchases and progress acquired during the time between 1.1 going live and the fix will be reverted – levels earned, items unlocked, packs opened, and spent currency. If you continued to play and didn’t patch then this will not affect you.”

Aussies likely didn’t encounter the issue… but if you did, rest easy.

Apex Legends is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
