Aonuma on why Twilight Princess HD was made by Melbourne-based Tantalus

Eiji Aonuma spoke to Stack magazine and explained why Melbourne-based studio Tantalus was chosen to work on the recent The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD.

“I felt they had strong developing skills from seeing their work across remakes of previous titles, so I decided to ask Tantalus to remake this title,” Aonuma said. “As a result, I think they created great work beyond my expectations.”

“We came to enjoy a lively exchange of opinions as we got used to the environment [of working over the internet],” Assistant Director Tomomi Sano added. “Most of all, it was very encouraging for us that Tantalus always worked with our requests.”
