Animal Crossing: New Leaf update adds two mini-games, amiibo support and more

Animal Crossing: New Leaf‘s big update today adds two new mini-games alongside amiibo support.

Desert Island Escape is unlocked by finding a Wii U console, in-game, while Puzzle League is unlocked by finding an in-game 3DS or 3DS XL. These items can be found inside fortune cookies from the Nooklings’ shop. Alternatively, the items can be obtained by scanning any of the 16 available Animal Crossing amiibo figurines.

Moreover, a new amiibo Camera mode features in-game, alongside new storage and touchscreen capabilities.

The update is live inside Animal Crossing: New Leaf from today. A re-release of the game, Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo, heads to stores in December.
