An old Resident Evil GBA ROM? Yes, please!

Man, current or upcoming games are so mainstream!

Embracing my new hipster Brunswick, VIC roots, I’m ditching those kinds of games and only playing underground titles. How much more underground can you get than a 90% complete — yet never released — copy of Resident Evil for the Game Boy Colour?

As per this post on Assemblers, a fundraiser was held in order to purchase two carts containing the GBC port of the original PlayStation One game. That particular post mentions Capcom was “not confident that the product would have made both consumers and [it] happy”, so it got canned. Playing it, I can see why. Infinite ammo and a clunky 2D-translation do not a good Resident Evil game, make.

The ROMs are available on that Assemblers post. Download and use at your own risk, since there are technically legal thinger-magigits that probably prevent it. You’ve been (sorta) warned.
