Amazon’s New World has been delayed to August 2021

Devs need more time for the endgame.

Amazon’s New World MMO has been delayed from a Spring 2021 northern hemisphere launch window to August 2021, with developers spending the additional time to perfect its endgame.

“We’ve been hard at work on compelling end-game features we believe are important to include at launch,” a new update reads.

“These features won’t be ready for the Spring timeframe that we had communicated. With that in mind, we will release New World on August 31, 2021,” the update continued. “With this extra time we’ll be able to add these substantial improvements while polishing and fine tuning the whole game before we open Aeternum’s shores to the world.”

An alpha test will continue on, with European servers spun up on 30 March. A Closed beta is scheduled for 20 July 2021; those who’ve pre-ordered the title will gain instant access.

New World was originally planned for an August 2020 launch.
