Amazon shows off first look at Sophie Turner as Lara Croft

And it's not bad!

Amazon continues its drip feed of news about the upcoming live-action Tomb Raider series with our first look at Sophie Turner as the iconic adventurer Lara Croft.

As you can see above — and below in full detail — Turner actually looks quite a bit like the character’s original 1996 Core/Eidos design. I personally love the circular, red glasses.

While the image is great and all, Amazon MGM Studios didn’t provide any further details about the series.

Last week, however, Amazon MGM Studios detailed a host of actors confirmed for the series. They include Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Celia Imrie, and many more either taking up the mantle of characters seen in the Tomb Raider video games, or new characters entirely.

“I’ve been a long-time fan of Tomb Raider and the character of Lara. She has always felt for me, very emboldened in a male dominated world. She’s a fierce female role model,” Sophie Turner said of her role at that same time.

It’s unclear when we should expect the series as yet; we’ll keep you posted.
