Amazon Prime membership jumps to $9.99 AUD in Australia

That's $3 AUD extra per month.

An Amazon Prime membership in Australia will be increased by $3 AUD per month, the company today announced.

Formerly $6.99 AUD per month, Amazon Prime will jump to $9.99 AUD per month in May for new users, and from 28 June for existing subscribers. Current customers will be charged the new subscription amount from the date of their next renewal.

“Since launching Amazon Prime in 2018 we have continued expanding Prime member benefits,” reads a blurb from an email to customers. “So we can continue growing the offering, Prime membership fees are changing to $9.99 per month. The new price will apply from June 28, 2023, on the date of your next renewal.”

A Prime membership includes benefits including Amazon Music, Prime Video, Amazon Music, Prime Gaming, and more. Current Prime Gaming benefits for the month of May 2023 can be found here.
