Alone in the Dark coming October, stars Jodie Comer & David Harbour

The actors provide "a different take on the same story."

Alone in the Dark has been locked into a 25 October release date and will star “famous actors” Jodie Comer (Killing Eve) and David Harbour (Stranger Things) as its protagonists.

In a press release, THQ Nordic said that the actors “will lend their voices, their appearance, and their formidable acting skills to the [game]. Depending on who you play, you will get a different take on the same story. You can see both of them in action in the new spotlight video, showcasing a tonne of gameplay.”

The trailer can be found below; skip to the 10:00 minute mark for the actual 10-minute presentation.

Today’s showcase also detailed a special Alone in the Dark prologue… called just that: Alone in the Dark Prologue. The demo isn’t a chunk of the game, but an experience meant to give you an idea of what to expect in October.

You can download the prologue here on Windows PC for Steam, and here on the Microsoft Store for Xbox.

Update: We’ve gone through a full (eight-minute) playthrough of the Prologue and have recorded the gameplay, below.

Sadly, it was an underwhelming affair; we’re feeling like it was trying to set a tone much like Resident Evil 7‘s first demo, but instead came across as boring and lacking context. Take a look yourself and let us know what you think in the comments below.

Expect Alone in the Dark from 25 October on Windows PC via Steam, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PS5.
