All staff at Annapurna Interactive resign; games not impacted

Control 2, Mixtape, and more live on.

The entire staff of Annapurna Interactive has resigned from the company, though the move has not jeopardised titles like Control 2, Mixtape, or Wanderstop.

Bloomberg reports that staff have resigned following a dispute with owner Megan Ellison.

“Our top priority is continuing to support our developer and publishing partners during this transition,” Ellison said in a statement given to the outlet. “We’re committed to not only our existing slate of games but also expanding our presence in the interactive space as we continue to look for opportunities to take a more integrated approach to linear and interactive storytelling across film and TV, gaming, and theater.”

Immediately after the news, developers took to social media to inform players that their projects were not impacted.

“Appreciate all those who reached out,” wrote local developer Beethoven & Dinosaur (of The Artful Escape fame). “Mixtape continues.”

Elsewhere,  confirmed that his next project with new studio Ivy Road, Wanderstop, is also not impacted.

“Just for the folks asking, we are 100% okay,” added The Stanley Parable developer Davey Wreden. “Nothing’s gonna stop us from getting Wanderstop out the door very soon.”

Remedy’s Thomas Puha also explained that the developers deals with Annapurna for Control 2 and TV & film projects were with Annapurna Pictures and not Annapurna Interactive.

Bloomberg’s report states that new Annapurna Interactive president Hector Sanchez plans to hire new employees to replace those that have resigned.
