Alienware details its first wireless headset for PC

Alienware today detailed its first wireless headsets for PC, breaking a headset producing gap that’s been in place since 2009.

The Alienware Wireless Headset (cool name, eh?) offers 7.1 virtual surround sound and includes Alienware’s AlienFX lighting system. Said lighting system will offer specialised lighting effects for more than 160 games, allowing users to both create and download themes.

Alienware says the headphone will support 8.5 hours of gameplay with AlienFX enabled, and 15 hours with AlienFX disabled. The headset can be charged via micro USB and connects to your PC either through a through a 2.4GHz wireless dongle or a 3.5mm cable.

The headset will be available worldwide from 11 June and retails for $229 USD.
