Alien: Isolation Lead Designer: The game’s better on PS4 because of the DualShock 4 lightbar

Alien: Isolation Lead Designer Gary Napper believes the upcoming game is more immersive on PS4 because of the DualShock 4 and its lightbar.

“My favourite version is the PS4 version – and I say that as a massive Microsoft fan – so to say the PS4 version is my favourite feels a bit weird,” Napper said to Now Gamer.

“The reason is – and it’s so minor – but we’ve made the DS4 to act like the motion tracker, so it lights up along with the radar blips and if the alien’s close-by it goes off quicker.

“It adds so much immersion.”

Do you think a lightbar blinking in time with Alien: Isolation‘s in-game motion tracker will make it the definitive version of the game?

Alien: Isolation heads to the PS3, PS4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on 7 October. We previewed the game at E3.
