Alan Wake 2 Night Springs DLC available tomorrow

Alongside news of a physical edition.

Alan Wake 2 Night Springs DLC will be available tomorrow, 9 June here in Australia, Remedy’s Sam Lake today confirmed at Summer Game Fest.

The news comes at the same time Lake confirmed that players will be able to purchase physical editions of Alan Wake 2 — and one in a Collector’s Edition format — later this year.

Night Springs will offer three episodes with three playable characters, seemingly Shaun Ashmore, Rose, and Control’s Jesse Faden. Lake described each episode as a “what if” scenario.

The trailer, above (when available) shows Remedy is continuing to push the envelope, with something looking out a comic book as part of Ashmore’s sequence.

“Put yourself in the shoes of the Number One Fan, who bears a striking resemblance to the waitress Rose Marigold, and fight the shadows in pursuit of truth and love with your trusty shotgun by your side. As the Actor, who may be called ‘Shawn Ashmore’ in some realities and ‘Sheriff Timothy Breaker’ in others, you will take on the mantle of the Time Breaker and defeat the villain hunting for you.

“And in the North Star episode, unravel coffee-based secrets and cosmic caffeine mysteries as the Sibling, who may seem familiar to those who know Jesse Faden, director of the Federal Bureau of Control,” Remedy said on the PlayStation Blog.

“In Night Springs, players will fight and puzzle their way through familiar, yet transformed locations. Expect more dream logic, twists and turns that only a sci-fi adventure written by Alan Wake can provide, and even more experimenting with different types of media, like a playable arcade game and a comic book.”

The DLC will come complete with 12 new Trophies and Achievements.

Alan Wake 2 is now available on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PS5. It won Stevivor’s Game of the Year for 2023.
