Alan Wake 2 Anniversary Update detailed

The free update comes alongside The Lake House DLC tomorrow.

The Alan Wake 2 Anniversary Update has been detailed by Remedy a day before its release.

“All players will be able to download the Anniversary Update for free, and it contains our biggest addition to quality of life and accessibility options to the game to date,” Remedy said in an update. “The features we’ve included are those that have been frequently requested by the community.”

All players will be able to invert both the in-game X and Y axes, while PlayStation players will be able to take advantage of improved DualSense haptics on more than just weapons.

Finally, a Gameplay Assist menu will add the following accessibility options:

  • Quick turn
  • Auto complete QTE
  • Button tapping to single tap
  • Weapon charging with taps
  • Healing items with taps
  • Lightshifter with taps
  • Player invulnerability
  • Player immortality
  • One shot kill
  • Infinite ammo
  • Infinite flashlight batteries

The Anniversary Update is a free update that is also timed for the release of Alan Wake 2‘s Lake House DLC, and Alan Wake 2′s physical editions. That all happens tomorrow, 23 October, here in Australia.

Alan Wake 2 is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5. The core title won Stevivor’s Game of the Year for 2023.
