AGDAs 2022 announced by IGEA

The Australian Game Developer Awards 2022, or AGDAs 2022 for short, was today announced by IGEA.

Taking place on 5 October, the awards have been “updated and tweaked” to “ensure wider recognition and reward for the industry”.

New or changed awards include Excellence in Music, Excellence in Technical Design, Excellence in Accessibility and The Ambition Award.

A full list of honours for the AGDAs 2022 is as follows:

  • Excellence in Art
  • Excellence in Gameplay
  • Excellence in Narrative
  • Excellence In Sound Design
  • Excellence in Music
  • Excellence in Technical Design
  • Excellence in Accessibility
  • Excellence in Mobile Games
  • Excellence in AR/VR
  • Excellence in Serious Games (Applied/Impactful)
  • Excellence In Ongoing Games (Games as a Service)
  • Excellence in Emerging Games (Student or Early Career)
  • Game of The Year
  • Studio of The Year
  • The Adam Lancman Award
  • The Rising Star Award
  • The Ambition Award

Information on assessment criteria and how titles are judged can be found on the AGDAs 2022 website.

The event is also looking for judges — you can apply on that same page if interested. Applications for judges close on 20 May.
