Adelaide-based Mortal Kombat film opens casting later this month

The Adelaide-based Mortal Kombat film will soon be casting Aussie-based martial artists, stunt people, boxers, wrestlers and more, Heesom Casting has announced.

The company is actively seeking Australian “Martial Art Specialists, Wrestlers, Stunties, Combat Fighters, Cage Fighters, BOXERS, Body Builders, Weightlifters, Strongmen (and ladies!) etc as well as ANYONE with supremely great physical physiques that would fit into the Mortal Kombat world,” a post on Facebook reads.

Applicants must be 25-years-old or older and email Heesom Casting with their details. Applications officially open on 19 July; you can head to that Facebook post for what the company’s specially looking for in an application email.

Back in May 2019, New Line Cinemas confirmed that the Mortal Kombat movie, a reboot of the franchise, would be filmed in Adelaide. Produced by James Wan (Aquaman, Saw), pre-production of the film is already underway. Visual effects and post-production work will be performed in the South Australian capital as well.

Will you be answering Heesom Casting’s casting call? Why or why not?
