Star Trek: Online players raise $35,000 for anti-bullying group

Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios today advised that the Star Trek Online community has raised $35,000 USD for the Pop Culture Hero Coalition, an anti-bullying organisation founded by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine actress Chase Masterson.

“In the true spirit of Star Trek, Perfect World Entertainment, Cryptic Studios and Star Trek Online are making a powerful stand for real-life heroism over bullying, racism, misogyny, cyber-bullying, and other forms of hate,” Masterson, who played bartender Leeta, said.

“Pop Culture Hero Coalition is proud and grateful to partner with these leading companies in this crucial, life-changing work. You are heroes.”

The funds were raised through in-game purchases of T1 and T6 ships and shuttles.
