3DS, Wii U cross-buy now available on the European eShop

For the first time, a cross-buy title is heading to the Wii U and 3DS.

Already popular between the PS3, PS4 and PS Vita, the concept of cross-buy on Nintendo’a platforms mean you’ll buy one title and be able to play it on both the Wii U and 3DS.

Squids Odyssey, soon available on the Nintendo Europe 3DS eShop, will come with a code to redeem the game on the Wii U. Strangely, the offer doesn’t work in reverse if you choose to buy the game on Wii U.

There you have it; cross-buy is here for Nintendo, but only in Europe for now. We’ll update this story with Australian information as it becomes available.
