2K shutting down Golf Club, PGA Tour 2K21 servers next month

There's still time to play... but not much.

Servers for both The Golf Club 2019 and PGA Tour 2K21 will be shut down at the end of October, publisher 2K has today advised.

From 30 August, Virtual Currency will be removed from purchase inside both titles, while server shutdowns will follow on 30 October. From that point onwards, “the games’ stores, progression rewards, and all other online game modes and functionality will no longer be available,” 2K advised.

PGA Tour 2K21 was a PlayStation Plus monthly freebie back in October 2021, so you may have the title in your library because of that.

As 2K points out, those itching to buy Virtual Currency and play online modes still have the opportunity to do so inside the latest instalment of its golfing franchise, PGA Tour 2K25The same is also true for PGA Tour 2K23.

“If a two-year cycle can work for golf, it can also work for a review,” I wrote about 2K25 earlier in the year. “Two years ago, I wrote that, ‘small improvements to an existing formula mightn’t be looked highly upon in a yearly cycle, but PGA Tour 2K23 gets away with it because of its cadence.’ The same is true for 2K25.”

PGA Tour 2K25 is currently available on Windows PC via Steam, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5.
