007 First Light delayed to May 2026

Filling the void left by Grand Theft Auto 6?

007 First Light has been delayed into May 2026, IO Interactive has today announced.

“We have decided to move the game’s release by two months, to the 27th of May 2026,” reads a statement from the studio.

007 First Light is our most ambitious project to date, and the team has been fully focused on delivering and unforgettable James Bond experience, bringing together breathtaking action, globe-trotting, spycraft, gadgets, car chases, and more. As an independent developer and publisher, this decision allows us to ensure the experience meets the level of quality you players deserve on day one.”

007 First Light will now (basically) release when Grand Theft Auto 6 was to be made available, though that title was delayed into November of next year.

“The game is progressing well and is fully playable from beginning to end, so these additional two months will allow us to further polish and refine the experience, ensuring we deliver the strongest possible version at launch,” IO Interactive continued, also promising to show more of the game early next year.

007 First Light heads to Windows PC via Steam, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS5, and Switch 2 from 27 May 2026.
