The Devil in Me guide: How to save Jamie and Kate

And earn the Shattering Expectations Achievement or Trophy too.

The Devil in Me is out now and continually puts your characters in mortal peril. This guide will tell you how you can save both Jamie and Kate from a cunning trap.

Needless to say, spoilers follow — read at your own risk.

Saving the pair is a two-step effort. First, in the checkpoint Director’s Suite, and playing as Kate, you’ll need to give Jamie the screwdriver.

Next, in the checkpoint Reflection when playing as Jamie, simply do nothing when in the glass trap. Don’t press the button. Let the glass wall “crush” Jamie and see what happens with the screwdriver in her possession.

Alternatively, you can keep the screwdriver with Kate and then press the button as Jamie so Kate breaks the trap instead. A video shows off both methods below.

Keeping both Jamie and Kate alive in this manner will earn you the Shattering Expectations Achievement or Trophy for your effort.

The Devil in Me is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5. We reviewed it here.
