Destiny 2 Tommy’s Matchbook Exotic guide: Get it & its Catalyst

Destiny 2 Season of the Worthy is out now, and with it comes the Tommy’s Matchbook Exotic for those who’ve got the game’s Season Pass. This guide’s all about how to get the weapon alongside its Catalyst.

Getting Tommy’s Matchbook

This is the easy bit — if you’re a Season Pass holder, head on over to your Seasons tab and click on the gift on the far left side of the screen. That’s right — that’s all you need to do to earn the Tommy’s Matchbook Exotic Auto Rifle.

Tommy’s Matchbook’s perk is called Ignition Trigger, and that means you’ll enjoy increased damage on opponents as you continue firing. The downside if that you’ll also begin to burn yourself as this happens, so try hip firing.

Getting the Tommy’s Matchbook Catalyst

To work towards the Tommy’s Matchbook Catalyst, head on over to Banshee-44 in The Tower after picking up the weapon. He’ll provide you with the A Good Match quest, which eventually will provide the Catalyst itself.

To complete the quest, do the following:

  • Earn 400 points in Strikes, Nightfalls, Gambit or Crucible matches
  • Get 200 Auto Rifle Combatant Multikills
  • Defeat 100 Guardians with an Auto Rifle

That’s it! Once complete, the Catalyst will give you the Heat the Moment perk, which decreases the amount of damage you’ll take from your weapon burn.

Destiny 2 is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Stadia where available.
