Atomfall Guide: How to upgrade weapons

How to unlock the Make do and mend Trophy or Achievement.

Available now in early access, this guide is all about how to upgrade weapons in Atomfall.

Upgrading weapons isn’t difficult, but there’s a lot of resources and planning involved. First, you’ll need to get the Gunsmith skill. This is held by Morris Wick in the Wyndham Village Shop (next to the Bakery). You’ll need to progress the Vicar’s murder mystery and side with Morris to get the skill. You can also get the skill in Data Store Delta (thanks, TrophyTom!).

With the skill obtained, you’ll then need six Stims to be able to unlock the ability to upgrade weapons. With the skill unlocked, you can head to the Crafting tab, then Upgrades to start upgrading. You’ll then need two of the same weapon and Gun Oil and Scrap to actually perform the upgrade. Got all that?

Guns are available in three tiers: Rusty, Stock, and Pristine. If you find two Stock weapons (which are held by Protocol Soldiers in Wyndham, as an example), you’ll be able to upgrade to Pristine and unlock the Make do and mend Trophy or the  Make do and mend Achievement.

Atomfall is out now in early access or otherwise available from 27 March on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, and PS5. We reviewed the game here.
