Alan Wake 2 Lake House guide: How to get the Control 2 Easter egg

It's a good'un.

Alan Wake 2′Lake House DLC is out now and has a wonderful Control 2 Easter egg that’s certainly a tease for the sequel. This guide will show you how to access the Control 2 Easter egg.

Spoilers obviously continue from this point.

Play through the game normally — and make use of our PC passcodes guide if you need to in the process — until you get to Level 4. There, you’ll flip and switch and turn off all the lights within a research centre.

There’s two steps to take to access the Easter egg from here:

  1. With the lights off, interact with three documents found in the centre.
  2. After doing step 1,  you’ll spawn a light switch cord. As you do in Control, use it three times.

From there, you’ll be teleported to a new area and encounter an NPC that should be very familiar to you if you’ve played Control. We’ve also got the sequence for you to watch above, if you’d prefer. Enjoy!

Alan Wake 2 and its two expansions are currently available on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5. The core title won Stevivor’s Game of the Year for 2023.
