Moving Out 2 has swapped boss battles for more levels

One battle is equivalent to five other levels.

Moving Out 2 has scrapped big, epic boss battles so the folks at SMG Studio could focus on creating more levels for the upcoming co-op puzzler.

“The boss battles were a lot of work,” studio head Ashley Ringrose told Stevivor. “So we toned down the — in air quotes — the ‘boss battles’ in this one just so we could have more levels.”

According to Ringrose, the final boss battle found in the original Moving Out “probably was like the equivalent of five levels”.

“And so we we’re like, ‘actually, we’ll tone those down because then we can spend more time on the levels’,” he said. “On content.”

We were big fans of the original title – big boss battle or otherwise – and are very much looking forward to the sequel.

Moving Out 2 heads to Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 and Switch on 15 August. Stay tuned for more with SMG Studio.
