Legends of Tomorrow’s Caity Lotz on differences between DC and Marvel television universes

Speaking with Stevivor earlier in the year, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’s Caity Lotz described the differences between the DC and Marvel television and film universes.

“DC always had like a kind of darkness in their films, and Marvel is always light in their films, and I feel the TV shows it’s almost opposite,” Lotz, who plays Sara Lance (White Canary), said.

“Marvel’s TV shows are a lot darker, and DC’s ones, like The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow,” Lotz began before stopping.

“Arrow is kind of dark,  I guess,” she conceded. “But [Legends of Tomorrow], I don’t understand how they pulled it off, but it’s light and dark.  Like it’s weird.  It really has both of those, because it’s a lot more like kind of fun, you know, but then it gets really dark.

“So it’s an interesting kind of balance.  I don’t know how they do that, but I think that they have achieved a really cool tone with the show.”

Stevivor’s currently running a contest that’ll net you the first season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow on Blu-ray, alongside the second season of The Flash and the fourth season of Arrow. Lotz also played the role of Sara Lance (Black Canary) on Arrow.
