Super Mario Run: How to play as Toad, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Luigi and Toadette

Super Mario Run is now available on iOS devices, and we’ve got the skinny on how to play as characters other than Mario.

Should you wish a little variety in your runs, here’s what to do.

Play as Toad

This one’s pretty easy. To play as Toad, simply connect your My Nintendo account to the game.

In the image above, you tap “My Nintendo” up in the top right. Once connected, you can grab Toad from the Gift Box, located just underneath the “My Nintendo” button.

Play as Princess Peach

Rescuing the damsel in distress will give you the opportunity to then take her out for a jog. To play as Peach, simply complete all six worlds in the World Tour Mode.

Play as Yoshi

To play as everyone’s favourite dinosaur, you’ll need to collect 30 Red and 30 Yellow Toads in Toad Rally. Doing so unlocks Yoshi’s House, which grants you access to the character. You’ll have to buy and place the house first.

Play as Luigi

Similar to Yoshi, you’ll need to collect 150 Green and 150 Purple Toads to unlock Mario’s brother Luigi.

Play as Toadette

Toadette will take the most work, requiring 200 of each Toad: Red, Blue, Green, Purple and Yellow. Enjoy the grind!

How to switch between playable characters

When you’re ready to run as a different character, simply touch the Character icon beside a level’s Start button.
