Surprising absolutely no one.
This is it — our final Stevivor Game of the Year (GOTY) 2025 award is being awarded today, and it’s for just that: the best game of 2025.
Let’s just get straight into it — after wins in Best Direction, Best Narrative, and Best RPG, Clair Obscur Expedition 33 also wins our overall game of the year.
“Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is an amazing first outing from the studio, and a powerful statement that the RPG genre is still growing and evolving to this day,” Matt wrote in our review. “JRPGs have had their time in the sun, sure – but I say, bring on the FRPGs!”
Clair Obscur was a runaway winner in this category, beating Supergiant’s Hades 2 and Kenny Sun’s Ball x Pit in second and third place, respectively.
From the bottom of our hearts, we’d like to thank each and every Stevivor reader for their patronage and support. We couldn’t do this without you.
Have a fantastic end to 2025, and an even better start to the new year. Catch you in 2026!
