Year in review: All of Stevivor’s 2019 interviews, in-depth pieces and features
It’s been another big year for Stevivor — join us as we take a moment to celebrate our features of 2019.[/vc_wp_text][vc_wp_text]
Tuesdays with Xbox head, Phil Spencer
As we did back in 2016, we made Tuesdays in late 2019 all about Xbox head Phil Spencer. While we’ll continue to release snippets from our chat with Spencer at X019 in 2020, here’s what we’ve covered so far.

E3 2019
Ben Salter was our man on the ground this year at E3, busting his ass to report on more games than we’ve ever done before. While most of that work came in the form of previews, here are his interviews from the event.[/vc_wp_text][td_block_4 post_ids=”161125,159029,158445″ limit=”3″ ajax_pagination=”load_more”][vc_wp_text]
PAX AUS
Stevivor used access at PAX AUS to delve into Destiny 2, Avengers, Cyberpunk 2077 and Minecraft Dungeons.[/vc_wp_text][td_block_4 post_ids=”162103,162107,163763,163375,163290,162298,162297,162297,162174,162043,162046,162049,162323,162080,162166,,162376″ limit=”3″ ajax_pagination=”load_more”][vc_wp_text]
Guest authors and special celebrations
2019 saw a number of special guest authors grace Stevivor.
Alex Aniel (buy his Resident Evil book here!) provided some excellent Resident Evil 2 Remake coverage, while returning authors Cav and Stuart Gollan took time to check in (and yes, Stuart’s technically a regular contributor but we’re classing him as a special guest as he’s had his hands full with a new child — congrats again!).
Stevivor also celebrated ten years as an Australian gaming outlet with a look back at the decade that was.[/vc_wp_text][td_block_4 post_ids=”152844,152514,155514,161033,153877,153877,153790,153790″ limit=”3″ ajax_pagination=”load_more”][vc_wp_text]
Microsoft and X019 London
Stevivor’s very fortunate to have access to developers and executives at Microsoft to discuss matters from child security settings all the way through to up-and-coming technologies like Project xCloud.[/vc_wp_text][td_block_4 post_ids=”163342,163352,163226,163332,163328,162123,161807,155976,” limit=”3″ ajax_pagination=”load_more”][vc_wp_text]
Apex Legends
Luke Lawrie headed over to the USA (and technically stayed, but that’s another story) to check out Apex Legends’ Season 2 before it dropped. We’re extremely proud that Luke was the first to find the game’s hidden Vault areas before they went live.
We’ve also added Hamish’s excellent piece about how Apex changed the genre upon its launch.

Jay Ball went on one of his first international press trips this year, heading to the UK to check out Elsweyr and its myriad new content.[/vc_wp_text][td_block_4 post_ids=”155274,155280,155276″ limit=”3″ ajax_pagination=”load_more”][vc_wp_text]
Remedy, Control and Aussie developer Brooke Maggs
It’s no secret that Stevivor loves Control. We were fortunate enough to speak with Aussie Brooke Maggs and Remedy Communications Director, Thomas Puha, about the game in 2019.[/vc_wp_text][td_block_4 post_ids=”164455,160497,160498,160466″ limit=”3″ ajax_pagination=”load_more”][vc_wp_text]
Rainbow Six: Siege
Our resident Siege expert, Luke Lawrie, had the opportunity to talk about the game’s new Aussie operators alongside a look at things (potentially) to come.[/vc_wp_text][td_block_4 post_ids=”154135,154075,154038,” limit=””][vc_wp_text]
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2
Hamish Lindsay went on one of his first international press trips ever in 2019, heading all the way over to Malmo, Sweden — go big or go home, right? There, he got the skinny on The Division 2 before it graced our PCs or consoles.[/vc_wp_text][td_block_4 post_ids=”152266,152270,152268,153714″ limit=”3″ ajax_pagination=”load_more”][vc_wp_text]
Gears 5
Steve travelled back to his homeland of Canada to speak all things Gears 5 with a number of developers at The Coalition.[/vc_wp_text][td_block_4 post_ids=”160692,160661,160661,160632,160630,160627,160594,160594,160588,160597″ limit=”3″ ajax_pagination=”load_more”][vc_wp_text]
