Pokémon Go Plus wearable available in Australia, New Zealand next week

Nintendo of Australia today confirmed that Pokémon Go Plus, the popular mobile game’s associated wearable, will launch in Australia and New Zealand next week.

From 16 September, the wearable connects to iOS and Android via Bluetooth and notifies players of nearby Pokémon and PokéStops.

“When a Pokémon is near, the device will vibrate and its LED will flash green,” Nintendo detailed in a press release. “Players can press the button on the device once close to throw a Poké Ball. A successful catch will result in the device flashing and vibrating.”

The device won’t be able to issue alerts on Pokémon attracted via incense, and will not track distances needed to hatch eggs.

Pricing details — or where you can even buy one — have yet to be released.
