XCOM 2 heads to Xbox One, PS4 in September

Surprise, surprise.

Despite initial claims that XCOM 2 would remain a PC exclusive, 2K and Firaxis today confirmed the game will head to PS4 and Xbox One in September.

Back in December last year, Firaxis’ Greg Foertsch said XCOM 2 was PC exclusive at launch because of the nature of the game and the industry.

“Unanimously, we wanted procedure. The procedural nature and how we were going to structure it went hand-in-hand with [PC], Foertsch said. “At the time, the new consoles weren’t out, and modding on a console, well, still hasn’t been done, really.”

XCOM 2 heads to PS4 and Xbox One on 6 September. We reviewed the PC version here.
