Fallout 4: Can’t find Dogmeat in Sanctuary? Build him a home!

A bunch of Fallout 4 players — including myself and Major Nelson — were having trouble finding canine companion Dogmeat after dismissing him back to Sanctuary.

Turns out, Dogmeat just has high Agility — he hides out in a doghouse wherever one is available. Since I scrapped all of mine when crafting, the poor guy had nowhere to go.

An easy fix to always know where Dogmeat will be is to scrap all the doghouses in Sanctuary — they’re usually in backyards — and build a single doghouse wherever you’d like. I put mine near my Power Armor collection, shown above.

Doghouses are found in the crafting menu under Decorations > Miscellaneous.
