Report: Hideo Kojima has left Konami

The internet is going wild today with speculation that Hideo Kojima is no longer with Konami.

The publisher has released a listing of executive appointments and Kojima’s name is nowhere to be found.

Moreover, NeoGAF is reporting that Kojima’s name has been removed from Metal Gear Solid V promotional artwork.

It doesn’t end there. The official Kojima Pro Twitter account has recently asked all followers to move to a different account, and the Kojima Pro website now points to Konami’s Metal Gear Solid portal.

Finally, Kojima Productions Los Angeles has been renamed Konami Los Angeles Studio.

Konami has released a statement addressing the issue. Sort of.

“Konami Digital Entertainment, including Mr. Kojima, will continue to develop and support Metal Gear products. Please look forward to future announcements, ” a spokesperson for Konami said.
