Start asking your local if they’ve got amiibo in stock

It looks like amiibo figures are starting to find their way back into Australian shores.

I found out that EB Games in Swanston Street had some amiibo in stock… and in the back room, only being sold to staff.

Low and behold, a short while later, it was confirmed by our pals at MMGN that the store had most wave one to three amiibos back for sale.

Granted, they’re probably all sold out by now.

Meanwhile, readers of Vooks.net have also reported that Japanese amiibo stock is being sold at select Target stores.

With reports coming in fast and furious, I’d recommend hitting up your local, and fast.

Update: EB Games Australia has addressed the situation, saying first that they weren’t aware of any restock.

EB then confirmed that stray stock had been sent to the store.

Consumers have also confirmed that EB Swanston’s stock consists of western and Japanese amiibo.

Update 2: EB Games has contacted Stevivor and advised that Swanston Street let customers know of this new stock, causing customers to “line up from around midday to grab the Amiibo.”

The problem is, the post from Swanston Street was only made at 3.27pm, after I overheard the two EB employees discussing the stock.

EB also advised that, “The staff then served customers who had lined up and wrote down what Amiibos they were after from the new delivery. One of these customers was also a staff member from another store.” According to EB and its Swanston Street store, this took place sometime around 2.30 – 3.00 pm.

Being in the store for approximately half an hour (I traded in an original 3DS and an Xbox 360), around 2.45 pm – 3.15 pm, I can confirm that I never saw a queue of shoppers, and only witnessed one person buying amiibo. Said shopper identified himself as an employee of another EB Games store and was dressed in a school uniform bearing the name of the suburb Blackburn on it. That person did write down the names of the amiibo figures he was after, and I’m assuming since he didn’t get the Marth he was after, that figure wasn’t in the restock.

In the entire time I was in the store, only two other customers were served.
