Blizzard announces local World of Warcraft servers for Australia, New Zealand

As part of an event in Sydney tonight, Blizzard confirmed that World of Warcraft will be getting local servers in Australia and New Zealand.

Just in time for the game’s newest expansion, “Warlords of Draenor”, the servers will go online from 28 October.

Blizzard confirmed that those currently in Australia and NZ on Oceanic servers will automatically be moved across to localised servers. Those in Australia and NZ and on different servers will have the option to move locally for free.

“Warlords of Draenor” launches from 13 November on Windows PC. World of Warcraft itself is celebrating its tenth anniversary.

Update: You can read Blizzard’s FAQ on the matter here.
