PAX Australia: Rooster Teeth’s Burnie Burns confirmed as storytime speaker

PAX Australia 2017’s keynote speaker has been confirmed as Rooster Teeth’s Burnie Burns.

The co-founder of Rooster Teeth, creator of Red vs. Blue, contestant on The Amazing Race contestant, star of Lazer Team and all around good guy will open up the popular gaming convention, to be held over 27-29 October 2017 in Melbourne, Australia.

Burns began his foray in the video game industry with Gus Sorola and Geoff Ramsay, forming drunkgamers.com in the early 2000s. The trio moved on to form Rooster Teeth with Matt Hullum and Joel Heyman, producing the first episode of Red vs. Blue on 1 April 2003. Burns himself has voiced the role of Church ever since.

Rooster Teeth successfully launched a crowdfunding campaign for its first feature-length film, Lazer Team, back in 2014. Burns stars as Anthony Hagan, one-quarter of the titular team, alongside Colton Dunn (Superstore) and Rooster Teeth’s Gavin Free and Michael Jones. Lazer Team 2 is currently in production.

Last year’s storytime speaker was Microsoft’s Major Nelson.

PAX Australia runs over 27-29 October 2017 at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre in Melbourne, Australia.
