The Viera playable in FFXIV’s Shadowbringers expansion

Update: Stevivor has endeavoured to find out if male Viera will feature in the expansion.

Original story: The Viera will be Final Fantasy XIV‘s newest playable race, Producer Naoki Yoshida today confirmed.

“The dev team is working hard to implement a high level of customisation,” Yoshida added, using today’s FFXIV Fan Festival in Paris, France, to show off the new race in game.

Moreover, Yoshida confirmed that in-game helmets will need to be reworked to cater to the Viera’s long, bunny-like ears.

As you can see from the in-game image above, the Viera will feature an outfit that resembles that worn by Final Fantasy XII‘s Fran. A wind-up Fran minion will be available in-game as part of Shadowbringers‘ Collector’s Edition.

Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers heads to Windows PC and PS4 from 2 July 2019.

Steve Wright was flown by Square Enix to attend the FFXIV Fan Festival. Flights and accommodation were paid by Square Enix.
