The inaugural Games for Change Asia-Pacific festival will take place over 5-7 October, part of the larger Melbourne International Games Week.
“The festival showcases the best work across the Asia-Pacific region using games to improve health, education and social outcomes,” its organisers declared in a press release. “Gamers, students, social changers, researchers and anyone interested in how games can make the world a better place can register via the virtual event platform Hopin.”

Over 100 presenters will be featured throughout the three-day event. Speakers include Noah Falstein (LucasArts founding member and former chief game designer at Google), Carolyn Mee (SoundScouts), representatives from the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (UNESCO) and more.
Melbourne International Games Week runs over 2-10 October and includes the likes of Games for Change, the Australian Game Developer Awards (AGDAs), PAX AUS Online, a free two-day conference on audio design and the Melbourne Queer Games Festival 2021.
