The Division 2 co-op scaling issue likely impacts armour

Division 2 scaling issue is impacting friends trying to play co-op together, resulting in one-hit kills if one player is a higher level than another.

Users have taken to Reddit to explain the issue, believing that weapons will scale up to an appropriate level when a lower-level player joins a higher-level friend, but that armour does not.

“I logged on yesterday with my brother. I was level 12, and he was level 18,” one Redditor wrote. “He joined my game, and I and all the mobs scaled up to level 18. I’m able to shoot and damage mobs enough without issue, so no problem there. However, the problem is when mobs shoot me, it appears as though they were hitting me as a lvl 12 rather than the lvl 18 I was scaled up to. This resulted in me getting one-shot continuously by every mob.”

“I’m level 15. My friends are levels 3, 5 and 7 respectively,” another wrote. “If they join me or I join them, they all scale up to level 14 as appropriate. They report they are doing a lot of damage with weapons and skills as intended. However, they are killed in 1-2 hits by enemies. I also notice I can go down much more easily. If I leave their game, the level 5 and 7 have a much, much easier time while the level 3 still has a much harder time.”

We’ve encountered the same issues here at Stevivor; I was a level 21 agent paired with Fenix Bazaar’s Gaetano, a level 7. He was constantly getting one-hit killed, though a part of me believes that’s just cause he needs to get gud (note: it’s a joke; he does not).

Thankfully, Ubisoft is aware of the issue and have acknowledged it is working on a fix.

“We have a fix in the works for that one,” Massive’s Live Content Manager, Yannick Banchereau, confirmed, though no further details were given.

Today, Ubisoft confirmed it would soon implement a hotfix that would sort the issue of glitched skills. Hopefully a fix for these scaling issues isn’t too far behind?

The Division 2 is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. Our review in progress can be found here.
