How many chapters are there in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End?

MINOR SPOILER WARNING: There are some very minor spoilers below about Uncharted 4. Nothing detailed about the story, but if you want to know NOTHING (not even how long it is), go back now.

We love Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. For more on that, check out our full review. If you’ve already read that, you’ll know I likened it to binge watching an entire TV series. The Uncharted games have all used a chapter-based structure that splits up the action with very convenient suspend points – but you’re going to have a very hard time putting the controller down.

“Just one more chapter,” you’ll tell yourself. Next minute, it’s 5.00 am on 11 May.

As such, we thought it would be helpful to know exactly how much you’ve got left.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has 22 chapters – but you’ll actually play through 24, as there is a prologue and an epilogue.

Like previous instalments, the prologue is set in the middle of the story, which is picked up mid-game. The first two chapters are set well before most events, establishing key backstory between Nathan and Sam, before returning to Uncharted 4’s present day. I won’t say anything about the epilogue.

In total, this took me about 15 hours to complete playing on moderate collecting around 40% of the hidden items (treasure, notes and optional journal entries). This play time does NOT include cutscenes, which add another hour or so.

As an added tidbit, here are the names of each chapter. They don’t really spoil anything, but don’t read them if that’s of concern.

Happy treasure hunting.
