Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida used a PlayStation VR event in Hong Kong last week to assure gamers that a PS4.5 Neo wasn’t needed to tackle virtual reality.
“We believe that everyone can enjoy the entertainment content on PSVR,” Yoshida said, via PSU. “Not just gamers, but a lot more people enjoy PSVR.”
Moreover, a brochure from the event, posted on Reddit, confirms that around 61 square feet of free space is required to use the PSVR system.
The PlayStation Camera, a requirement of PSVR, requires 9.8ft x 6.2ft (or 3.0m x 1.9m) or space, amounting to approximately 60.76 square feet. The brochure adds that some games require DualShock 4 or PlayStation Move controllers.
The more space, obviously, the better.
PlayStation VR heads to Australia on 13 October. The unit will cost $549.95 AUD.
