Xbox One consoles not bundled with headset, PS4s are

Those hoping to open their Xbox One Day One Edition come November and find a headset will be sorely disappointed.  The Official Xbox Magazine broke the news and Microsoft later released a statement to Ars Technica regarding the lack of a pack-in headset;

Xbox One does not include a pack-in headset accessory. Each Xbox One includes the new Kinect sensor, with a highly sensitive multi-array microphones designed to enable voice inputs and chat as a system-level capability, both in-game and with Skype and other experiences. For gamers who prefer a headset, we have a variety of offerings that you can find on the Xbox Wire.

It’s a strange move considering that all Xbox 360 packs — with the exception of the 4GB Arcade edition — have historically come bundled with a headset. More baffling still is that Microsoft label the Xbox One’s headset as “a must-have for fans of online gaming”. An RRP has not been released for the headset at this stage.

In what may be considered another win for Sony however, is the fact the the PS4 will be bundled with a headset when it launches later this year.

What do you think of the lack of a bundled headset for the Xbox One? Does this give Sony even more of an advantage with the PS4?
