In an open letter to gamers, developers CD Projekt have announced another delay to The Witcher 3, pushing the release date three months to 19 May, 2015. Despite promising the delay announced back in March would be the final one, CD Projekt want to do more bug fixing on the ambitious open world RPG which has resulted in this setback.
This puts increased pressure on the game, after two delays any bugs that do slip through will be criticised and this genre has plenty of examples of how difficult it is to eliminate them (think Fallout: New Vegas, Skyrim). Yet in a season where other high profile titles are rushing out full of bugs, The Master Chief Collection, Driveclub, Assassin’s Creed: Unity, it is a nice change to see developers willing to push a game to get things right, even if the wait is agonising.
