The Times in Britain are reporting that regarding the PlayStation 4, “Sony is considering pricing the new device at about £300”. This would mean the PS4 would launch at around £100 cheaper than its predecessor.
At £100 less, the price difference is 25%. In Australia the PlayStation 3 launched with a 40GB and a 60GB model at RRPs of $699.95 AUD and $999 AUD respectively. If The Times report is accurate the PlayStation 4 could launch for $525 AUD or $750 AUD.
Until more information is officially revealed by Sony though, all of this remains speculation and should be treated as such. As soon as we have official information from Sony we’ll be sure to pass it on.
