Wii U 8GB model gets unofficial price cut in UK

MCV UK is reporting that retailers have dropped the price of the Wii U 8GB model by as much as 70 GBP, quoting one retail source that Nintendo is trying to “clear out” stock of the basic model.

The biggest discounts are applying to bundles with the 8GB system, but Australian’s might be out of luck as most retail stores no longer stock the Basic model. For those looking for a Wii U (and who don’t care much for downloading games, that 8GB hard drive is laughably small) this is worth keeping an eye on, chances are in the pre and post Christmas rush you’ll see them at a heavy discount.
