Watch: Jim Sterling takes aim at Nintendo’s Creator’s Program

Jim Sterling has let fly at Nintendo in his latest Jimquisition video, lambasting the publisher for its YouTube Creator’s Program.

The program will allow uploaders to share a part of advertising revenue with Nintendo for videos which feature gameplay footage from the company. However, only approved footage can be used in said videos.

Sterling lets go on the Japanese company in a 7-minute, no holds barred tirade stating that “Nintendo has a long history of ‘not getting it’ when it comes to YouTube and the new age of transformative work.”

This echoes the sentiment of Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg who, in a Tumblr post, argued, “If I played a Nintendo game on my channel, most likely most of the views and ad revenue would come from the fact that my viewers are subscribed to me. Not necessarily because they want to watch a Nintendo game in particular.”

What do you think of Nintendo’s approach?
