Ubisoft offering free game to disgruntled Might and Magic Heroes VII players

Ubisoft have responded to claims they intentionally misled customers who preordered the PC collectors edition of Might and Magic Heroes VII by offering a full refund as well as a free game as a sign of good will.

This debacle arose when Ubisoft seemed to clearly show that the PC collectors edition of the game came with a physical copy of the game, rather than the download code included. Ubisoft have since updated the game on their store to reflect the inclusion of a download code and offered refunds/a free game.

They also offered a statement to Gamespot: “Ubisoft regrets any confusion created by the marketing materials for our Might and Magic Heroes VII Collector’s Edition,” they said. “Ubisoft apologizes for any frustration and disappointment resulting from these items being in digital format vs. physical format.”

Ubisoft are offering Far Cry 4, Assassin’s Creed Rogue, The Crew, Toy Soldiers: War Chest Hall of Fame Edition and Zombi to try and appease players, but both the refund and free game are only applicable to copies sold in the U.S.
