The lore of The Witcher series extends far beyond video games and in addition to the books and existing television series we will be seeing a Witcher movie in 2017.
According to VG24/7 the movie will be a prelude to a new television series and the beginning of a film series. Developer of the games CD Projekt Red is not involved, so any tie-in to the events of the games is unlikely.
It is hard to gauge expectations on this one. Is it a video game movie? Is it a book movie? Is it just a movie? The universe of The Witcher has the capacity to tell some amazing, epic stories, but somehow I get the feeling this won’t live up to that potential.
